When it comes to shopping, I'm all about a great deal. I think we can all agree, wherever we choose to shop, that finding the best deals is always something we keep in mind. Today's post is all about the biggest bargain I've managed to add to my wardrobe so far: The Rachel Comey Mars Boot.

If you've been following this blog for a while then you've probably spotted these in a post or two. I found these babies at a Solestruck sample sale. Solestruck sells the best shoes in Portland. They have everything from plain black booties, to incredible shoe designs created from various collaborations with designers and other shoe companies (They're also currently celebrating their birthday with a 20% off sale until the 19th, so check out their website when you get a chance). Solestruck was having their annual "Shit Show" sample sale last Fall where everything in their warehouse is offered at prices of $10-$40 and I snatched these babies up within the first 5 minutes of walking through the doors. I have never seen a pair of shoes like these; straight seams, piped detailing, inner ankle elastic (so it's not a pain to get them on) and a beautifully stacked leather heel. I'm a huge fan of ankle boots but I had nothing but brown and black pairs, I needed something different and these definitely fit the bill! 

So I know you're probably wondering, "What was this "huge bargain" on these shoes? Well, if you happened to have spotted that yellow sticker on the sole of the boots in the photo above (That I have yet to take off for some reason) That means these shoes were in the sample sale for $40! Currently retailing for about $403 that means I managed to grab these for a little over 90% off! If that's not a bargain, I don't know what is.

I definitely lucked out with these boots, I wear them as often as I can without completely wearing them out. I highly encourage you to use resources like Instagram and Yelp to find spots in your local area that are having sample sales, huge clearances, or just regularly offer great deals. You never know what you could end up taking home with you!
