Color Inspiration: Spring/Summer 2015
When it comes to color, I'm pretty picky about certain shades that I find attractive or unattractive. I always asses color in one of two ways: How it makes me feel and how it looks on me/in my wardrobe. Of course my top color choices always change with the seasons, but that's probably a good thing, a chance to add more color in my life (pun intended). These are the top 3 colors I'm loving for this season, and how they inspire me. (images via pinterest)
Grey-Blue
Grey-Blues have been a recent inspiration color for me. I was always a fan of the darker shades of blue for the occasional chambray shirt and, of course, jeans; but recently I've been paying more attention to this softer shade of blue. I've been dabbling in the idea adding color to my hair. I wanted a color that would compliment me, and for the longest time I thought that was Purple. Nowadays, I'm seeing purple everywhere as well as grey, but I'm not seeing a ton of grey-blue. That may be my next endevour! It's been an inspiration color for me not just for clothing & hair, but also for travel as I've been thinking more and more about what it would be like to travel back to Santorini, Greece for a summer. The colors of Santorini are marvelous, the blue of the buildings, the blue of the water, and the amazing contrast with whites. It would be so nice to return. *Sigh* One day.
Military Green
Military Greens have always been a favorite, but recently I'm seeing new styles paired with this color and it's sprouted a whole new cloud of inspiration for me. While it may technically still be a shade for Fall, seeing this color on lightweight trousers and bomber jackets makes me want to try it out for spring!
Pinky-Nudes
Soft Pinky-Nudes are another color that have always been a favorite, but this year I seem to be incorporating more into my wardrobe & makeup collection. Summer is all about having that glowing look when it comes to makeup, and what goes better with a bronzed face than some natural pinky-nude lips? I've also spotted some fashion pieces over the last couple of weeks that really caught my eye and I feel could work well with the other inspiration colors I've listed above.
Thanks so much for checking out this post! What kind of colors are you loving for Spring/Summer?Tell me in the comments I'd love to know!
